HYBRID SEWER-SEPTIC SYSTEM

This system was designed by Flo, but the idea may be used freely by any Town in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Any commercial entity or Town or City outside of this area, which uses this system may contact Flo for permission beforehand.

This hybrid system is for towns which currently have septic systems and are proposing to convert to municipal sewer system.


ADVANTAGES OF HYBRID SEWER-SEPTIC SYSTEM

Ends underground water pollution from septic system leach fields

Municipal water supplies will require less treatment

Ponds and rivers will not have pollution from septic systems

Wildlife will not be harmed by polluted water from septic waste

Algae plooms will be reduced to those occurring naturally and not triggered by septic waste

Preserves existing septic system

Continues to hold home owner responsible for disposing of solid waste from their home's plumbing waste

Prevents home owners from disposing of hazardous material into sewer as it will cause breakdown of septic system

Retain jobs currently being held by septic disposal pumper truck companies

Makes it easier to process waste at treatment plant because solids are retained at the source for disposal by homeowner at their expense

The cost is much less to process the liquid waste

Building a treatment plant will not be as costly

Future septic tanks will not have to be built above ground, as is currently being done in towns with high water table

Older septic systems will not have to be upgraded because of failing leach fields, because leach fields are eliminated

Companies which currently manufacture and/or install septic tanks will retain their jobs

There will be jobs created for new hook-ups to town sewer

There will be new jobs created at the sewer treatment facility

Any existing cesspools would have to be replaced by septic tanks
